| Description |
| Software Engineer: Analyze and study complex system requirements. Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses and manage their implementation. Translates detailed design into computer software. Implement Cots packages. Test, debug, and refine the computer software to produce the required product. Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and userlevel documentation. Enhance software to reduce operating time or improve efficiency. Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques and automated support tools. Provide technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met. Specialized Qualifications: Experience managing or performing software engineering activities, demonstrated experience working with SQL, and third/fourth generation languages in the design and implementation of systems and using database management systems. Demonstrate increasing responsibilities in software engineering activities. Have a strong understanding of the existing Agency IT infrastructure, familiarity with the Agency's Enterprise Technical Architecture (ETA), knowledge of the CIA Program Management Process, and knowledge of the Approved Products List (APL) and Approved Software Products Baseline. Summary of on-site work: Senior level software engineer responsible for designing and building scalable high-performance data processing software. Responsible for assisting in the definition, design, testing and integration of commercial software products into a complex large scale information extraction system. Work will include design, development, integration and testing of components used to support natural language processing tools including the ability to send, receive and transform data from these tools. MANDATORY SKILLS: Senior level system architecture /engineering skills/experience.
Expertise in JAVA, J2EE, Expertise in App servers (Tomcat), Expertise in Web Services, Ability to transform business requirements into technical requirements, Excellent oral and written communication skills, Full Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) experience, Ability to understand and apply new technologies, Excellent debugging and trouble shooting skills. |
